Position Summary
Cadex is seeking an experienced Embedded Firmware/Software Developer to join our growing organization. As a member of the firmware team, you will work with a talented group developing new products from inception through release, while also supporting existing products.
We are looking for someone who can work effectively both as part of a team and independently, depending on the nature of the project. The preferred candidate will have experience at the physical hardware layer and throughout the full product development lifecycle. You will design, code, integrate, and document firmware for new battery maintenance and analysis tools, as well as battery management systems and fuel gauges for custom battery packs. You will also add features and help resolve technical issues in legacy products.
This is a temporary position.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop software and firmware through requirements definition, design, coding, verification, and product integration.
- Assist with hardware bring-up during product development.
- Participate in the creation of innovative products.
- Support firmware updates in existing products, including triage, bug fixes, new feature development, and ongoing support.
- Work as part of a team on larger projects or independently on smaller projects.
Qualifications
- Engineering or Computer Science degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience.
- Leadership qualifications or experience as a team lead.
- Ability to code and troubleshoot at the hardware level.
- 10+ years of product development experience.
- Familiarity with ST MP1 microprocessors and Cortex microcontrollers.
- Fluency in C; working knowledge of assembly code is preferred.
- Experience with Python.
- Experience with Linux user-space application development in an embedded environment, preferably OpenSTLinux.
- Familiarity with structured code development, code reviews, documentation, and diligent use of source control.
- Knowledge of test equipment such as electronic loads, power supplies, oscilloscopes, meters, and computer systems.
- Ability to work in a team environment; experience coordinating other team members in a multi-designer project is preferred but not required.
