Shipping Clerk

Overview:

Cadex Electronics Inc. is a world leader in quality and innovation of battery test systems, chargers, analyzers that optimize battery performance. We are also currently developing a variety of battery packs, battery monitoring systems, charges, analyzers and advanced battery testers which involve complex signal processing. We employ over 65 employees and also operate regional sales offices located in the Nurnberg, Germany.

The Position:

We are currently recruiting for the position of Shipper/Receiver to join our growing organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately receiving, handling, stocking and shipping of our products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Print the day’s pick lists, compare with the day’s Sales Orders (SO), and determine which are on hold.
• Email Customer Service (CS) with the holds, to be set aside until cleared by CS.
• Request any C of Cs from Doc Control (DC), and check any SIAs.
• Pack each order per COPs, and ship per COPs. Communicate with appropriate carriers.
• Through warehouse (wh) assessment or Production request inputs, determine which parts to restock from Overstock to Picking locations. 
• Put away any parts transferred from Receiving or QC into Picking or Overstock locations. Do so after assessing FIFO status of existing stock in Picking or Overstock locations.
• Update the parts wh location list with any complete removal from or new addition to Overstock locations.
• As needed, add or remove Picking locations on that list regarding new or obsoleted/scrapped parts. Add or remove Picking location part labels as required.
• Regularly assess packing-box stock levels with KANBAN cards, and email KANBAN requests as needed to #Purchasing.
• Help others with access to or storage of non-part-number materials.
• Help drivers as needed with incoming and outgoing shipments or other materials.
• Manage equipment calibration requests from DC, shipping equipment per POs emailed from DC.
• Deal with ongoing recycling by sorting/processing of continuously incoming materials:  cardboard, electronics, plastics, metals, batteries, bulbs, etc. Call in recyclers as necessary, or transport to depots yourself.
• Perform Receiving duties when necessary due to volume or absent Receiver.

Education and Experience

• Electric standup narrow-aisle forklift operator’s certificate.
• IATA transport of dangerous goods (Air) certificate
• Transportation of Dangerous Goods (Ground) certificate
• Must be self-motivated, willing to learn, and must have a Positive Attitude.
• Prior warehouse experience is an asset.
• Team Player and able to communicate and work co-operatively with a small staff.
• Maintain a high level of warehouse standards to ensure cleanliness, organization and safety.
• Picking, packing and shipping customers’ orders in a timely fashion with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Adapt and implement systems to improve efficiency.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
