Scissor-lift battery diagnostics

Battery check in seconds

Know whether a lift battery can finish the shift before it leaves the service bay.

Spectro CM-12 uses Multi-Model Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy to estimate usable capacity and state of charge in about 30 seconds. The non-invasive result helps rental fleets and service teams identify weak deep-cycle batteries without a lengthy discharge test.

Capacity at every service

Runtime—not voltage alone—determines whether the lift finishes its work.

Deep-cycle batteries can appear charged while no longer storing enough usable energy for a full shift. Capacity is the leading indicator of how long the platform can continue lifting, driving, and supporting onboard loads.

A capacity pass/fail threshold is commonly set at 60% for this application. A pass supports full-day service; a fail calls for replacement or reassignment to a less demanding duty.

From measurement to action

Validate the battery against the shift it must complete.

A battery matrix converts a complex electrochemical response into an application-specific service decision.

01

Measure

Scan the battery non-invasively across multiple frequencies to classify capacity, state of charge, resistance, and anomalies.

02

Validate

Compare the response with a matrix built from same-model batteries at known performance levels.

03

Decide

Apply the selected MORE threshold and return a clear pass, reassign, or replacement decision.

Fleet-ready diagnostics

Find the weak battery before a lift is stranded.

A scissor lift depends on a series-connected battery pack. One low-performing battery can shorten runtime for the entire machine, even when the remaining batteries are healthy.

  • Check battery matchCompare the remaining state of charge after service. A well-matched string should typically remain within 10%.
  • Avoid discharge-test downtimeClassify capacity without removing the lift from service for a lengthy full discharge.
  • Use the right matrixDownload model-specific matrices for deep-cycle batteries and other supported applications.

Connected records

Give technicians and fleet supervisors the same battery history.

The tester connects to its host by Bluetooth and can optionally share results through CadexCloud over Wi-Fi. Local and cloud records can retain battery status, charge level, resistance, temperature, equipment records, and work orders.

With a QR code on each battery, a technician can retrieve its matrix and previous results before storing the latest reading.

Battery-string matching

The weakest battery governs the pack.

A series string performs only as well as its weakest member. Measuring each battery after a work cycle exposes the unit that reaches a low state of charge first and limits the lift's usable runtime.

When replacement is required, matching the new battery to the capacity of the remaining pack helps restore balance without discarding serviceable batteries prematurely.
