Why is capacity so important?
The health of a starter battery lies in capacity (stored energy) and cranking ability (CCA). Capacity and CCA do not age equally. While CCA may stay high with use, capacity tends to drop more rapidly. Capacity is the leading health indicator of a battery.

How is the Spectro CA-12 different?
Conventional battery testers are based on load or conductance check. While these units can verify cranking power, the capacity is unknown. With Spectro CA-12, you get capacity, CCA and state-of charge (SoC), completing the battery puzzle.
Ease of Use
Simply connect the Spectro CA-12 to the battery terminals and read the test results. The battery
doesn’t need to be disconnected nor fully charged.
If below 40% SoC, the CA-12 advises to charge and retest.

Simple user-interface
The CA-12 shows results in numeric and graphical formats. You can also check the alternator and resistance of the battery cables. The test is non-invasive and safe.

software to store records, download test results, print reports and upgrade firmware. Includes RS232 and infrared link for the optional label printer.
