C8000 Special Features
I/O Ports provide independent service
Each of the 4 channels features a Battery Port and I/O Port that can be individually programmed.
Floating analog inputs allow cell monitoring. The system includes:
- 4-wire battery test cables
- 4 differential analog voltage inputs
- 4 input/output control for switching
- SMBus, clock, data for smart packs
- 2 general purpose analog inputs

Transform into a powerful laboratory system
Optional accessories transform the C8000 into a powerful laboratory system, enabling fully automated testing. Each channel forms its own test bed. The C8000 controls:
- Thermal chambers
- External chargers
- Digital load banks
- Heating elements
- Temperature sensors
- Pressure gauges
- Cell monitoring
- Safety circuits
- Alarms
Captures and stores load signatures
The Cadex C8000 captures and stores load signatures of a power tool by drilling through a steel beam. Applying the load will determine how many holes a given battery can drill. Other load captures include spinning up a hard drive on a laptop or accelerating an electric motor.
Tests function of a charger
The Cadex C8000 tests battery chargers by substituting the battery with a programmable current and voltage source. Verifies function and correct charge termination.
Tests safety circuit of a battery
The C8000 identifies high and low battery cut-off points by raising and lowering a simulated voltage. Checks safety circuits of lithium-ion and intrinsically safe batteries.
Performs battery lifecycle tests
The Lifecycle test program automatically cycles a battery to the end-of-life, recording capacity, internal resistance, temperature and other parameters through PC-BatteryShop™. A counter indicates the number of charge/discharge cycles before the battery capacity drops to a preset target level. |
|
| Varying the end-of-discharge voltage threshold enables different depth-of-discharge conditions. |
Tests batteries under GSM, TDMA,CDMA
The Cadex C8000 allows simulating load conditions of wireless communications devices; programmable in 50s steps. Verifies runtime and cycle life of various battery types. |

Interfaces to SnapLock™ Battery Adapter system
Cadex offers 4 SnapLock™ adapter styles:
Custom Battery Adapters
The SnapLock™ adapters contain C-codes that configure the analyzer to the correct setting. Reprogramming and adding (up to 10) is possible. Specialty adapters available on request
FlexArm™
The FlexArm™ services less common batteries. The flexible arms reach the smallest contacts. Magnetic guides keep the battery in position and a temperature sensor monitors the battery. The gold contacts are replaceable.
RigidArm™
The four-wire RigidArm™ handles a wide range of cellular phone and other rechargeable batteries. Spring-loaded arms lock in position to allow quick and accurate setup for repetitive testing. A retractable floor holds batteries vertically or horizontally; adjustable magnetic battery guides are included. Banana plugs offer easy polarity selection; temperature sensor ensures safe operation.
Smart Cable
The Cadex Smart Cable services larger batteries that are placed outside the unit. The temperature sensor attaches to the battery with a magnet. Ideal for batteries with protruding terminals.
