Manufacturing Engineer (Intermediate)

Cadex Electronic Inc. is a world leader in quality and innovation of Battery Test Systems, Chargers, and Analyzers that optimize battery performance. We are also currently developing a variety of battery packs, battery monitoring systems, chargers, analyzers and advanced battery testers which involve complex signal processing. We employ over 65 employees and also operate regional sales offices located in the USA and Nürnberg, Germany.

The Position: Manufacturing Engineer (Intermediate)

We are currently recruiting for Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing organization. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering and Test Manager, the successful candidate will support the development of new product Test systems, Product Processes, and support for existing products. Product\Process Support will range from Commercial, Military to Medical.

Manufacturing Engineer Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Degree or Technology Diploma in Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
    • Equivalent experience is at the sole discretion of the Company
    • Mechanical Engineering Degree or greater is highly preferred.
  • Industry experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, of 5 or more years is required.
  • Experience in Part Machining is highly preferred
  • Experience in creating product specific Manufacturing process is required.
  • Experience in Programming languages (C\C++\Visual\Lab-view (Highly Desired)\Python)
    • 2 to 3 years of knowledge is Desires.
  • Working knowledge of New Product Introduction requirements process is highly desirable
  • Experience with Surface Mount Technology and Selective Wave Solder process is preferred.
  • Intermediate Electronic Assembly skills required.
  • Thermal, Mechanical, and Materials Knowledge preferred. Intermediate Operational Knowledge preferred.
  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors as assigned
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout as assigned
  • Dealing with Complexity, Informing Others, Leadership, Supervision, Hardware Specifications, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Manufacturing Quality, Product Development, Presenting Technical Information, CAD, CAD/CAM Circuit Design
  • Use of DMAIC methods and Iterative Interrogative Techniques to determine a Root Cause
    • 5-Why’s (Six Sigma)
    • Kanbanize
    • Fishbone Method
    • Etc.
Language Skills
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position.
    • Additional Languages are desired
Computer Skills
  • •Perform moderately complex computer tasks as assigned.
    • Knowledge and use of MS office is required. Specifically Word and Excel.
      • Understanding of Excel equations and functions is an asset.
    • Understanding of Networking setup and configurations.
  • 3D Cad knowledge required (Mechanical & Electronic)
    • Knowledge and Skill of Solidworks and Cam-Works are Highly Desired.
    • Knowledge in Altium is desired.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Lead monitoring, auditing and reporting of site process through use of metrics, as assigned.
  • Lead new and existing process development, implementation, and controls in support of Company and customer specific needs, as assigned.
  • Lead implementation of user group standards across the site and support user group projects on specific processes as required, as assigned.
  • Mentor and train individuals in various processes, required tools, and philosophies.
  • Lead assessments of new assemblies for implementation into the manufacturing process as assigned
  • Support manufacturing tool design and implementation.
  • Support failure analysis.
  • Support new customer product introductions.
  • Lead cost reduction projects on specific processes. as assigned
  • Support process qualifications and validations of both new and existing processes.
  • Support quote activities by reviewing and ensuring all customer technology requirements are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.
