Overview: We are currently recruiting for a Quality Coordinator to join our growing organization. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role within the Cadex QMS team. This individual will perform help to maintain and improve Cadex’s ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 registered QMS.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager as required.
  • Ensure all required quality records are readily available
  • Lead the closure of NCRs, CARs and OFIs
  • Prepare supporting materials for Management Review meetings.
  • Perform internal audits
  • Host and act as the guide for external audits


Qualifications:

  • Outstanding written and oral English language skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role in at least one ISO 9001 registered organization in Canada or the USA. Must have participated in the external audit process and helped to successfully address all audit findings.
  • Attention to detail; organized.
  • Sense of urgency.
  • Able to deal with all levels of management and staff effectively and tactfully.
  • Fully conversant with Windows and Microsoft software applications.
  • Experience with ISO 13485 would be an asset, but lack thereof should not in any way discourage otherwise qualified applicants

Senior Engineering Project Manager

Requirements:

  • Engineering or Computer Science Degree, Diploma of Technology (or equivalent) from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience managing such technical projects, and a minimum of 8 years work experience in a technology company involved in design and manufacturing.
  • Must have managed multi-discipline product development teams, including hardware and software/firmware, and must have an understanding of the processes involved to introduce these products into a manufacturing facility or contract manufacturer.
  • Prior experience with ISO9001 processes required
  • Experience with the development of medical products, experience with ISO13485 and IEC62304 will be valuable assets for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Able to plan out and project manage one or more simultaneous technical, multi-discipline product development project which include HW, SW and Manufacturing introduction (including the continuous tracking of Gantt charts and summary views)
  • Hold regular Project Meetings with the team to ensure communications and track progress
  • Track progress against the plan and provide simplified views of the ongoing plan to others. Keep view/control of the project's critical path
  • Clarify the scope/Requirements of projects (either with management or customers)
  • Recognize deviations that affect schedule, cost or features, bringing them to closure with the necessary stakeholders; raise to management when changes affect schedule, cost or features
  • Drive objectives and milestones with the team to track progress; make visible to the team and management
  • Ensure project files are properly generated and maintained. Help complete these as necessary to ensure documents and processes meet the required ISO requirements and expected standards.
  • Set targets and bring projects to completion
  • Get involved in design and problem solving. Provide guidance and coaching to team members. Assist with removing hurdles as a leader of the team.

Accounting and HR Specialist/Assistant

Reporting to the Head of Finance and Operations, this role will cover 2 major areas:

  1. General HR support including:

    • administration of payroll, benefits and employee record keeping.
    • monthly payroll GL transactions, and reconciliations.
    • Employment contracts
    • Recruiting support
     
  2. Accounting and controlling support

    • Helping with month end and year end closing
    • Preparing financial summaries and reports
    • Providing financial analysis


Requirements and Qualifications

  • A undergraduate degree 2+years in Accounting, Finance and/or HR or equivalent experience.
  • Good proficiency in MS Excel, and ability to grasp new technologies quickly;
  • Working knowledge of ADP Payroll program would definitely be an asset;
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity in all aspects of work;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to balance multiple priorities;
  • Strong administrative and IT skills with careful attention to detail;
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant employment legislation, including the BC labour standards.

Manufacturing Technologist or Technician (NPI/Pilot line)

Overview: With our growing base of new customers Cadex is looking to enhance its Advanced Manufacturing team for introducing new products and processes to production. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager we are looking for a Manufacturing Technician (NPI/Pilot line) to act as an advanced Manufacturing interface between the shop-floor and the Manufacturing/Test Engineering group.

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality team, will support the transition of new products from development, through Pilot runs, then to production
  • Work with Engineering designers and the manufacturing team to document, install, assemble and debug new or updated equipment/processes.
  • Perform or assist with product or process qualifications: Run tests, record data and performs other activities required to qualify new or changed products and processes (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Setup Equipment and Production Lines. Reconfigure production lines to switch between products. Locate tooling and other items needed to perform the setup. Install, setup and test tooling in the manner described on the work instructions.
  • Diagnose and Repair Equipment and Process issues: Diagnoses and repairs any equipment or process issues. Find and correct root cause.
  • Secure Support from Other Manufacturing Technicians or Engineers as necessary: Exercises good judgment in requesting help in a timely manner when help is needed ensure product, process and delivery compliance or when help would increase equipment uptime.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicates information regarding equipment or process problems to the appropriate person.
  • Data Gathering: Gathers accurate data to be used for diagnosis, root cause analysis, resolving CAPAs or other purposes.
  • Train Other Manufacturing Technicians: Works with other Manufacturing Technicians and Engineers as both a student and a teacher. Ensures shopfloor is trained in all areas of knowledge and all skills to promote maximum reliability, competency and efficiency.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement: Works to improve techniques, consistency/reliability, efficiency, automation, yield throughput... in production.
  • Act as a manufacturing backup for all in all areas: Gathers knowledge and acquires skills in order to fill in for production processes should the need arise, especially on some of the more complicated processes (spot-welding, potting, ...).
  • Performs work in adherence with Safety Rules: Performs work in a safe manner and encourages others to do the same. Reports any safety issues to the Safety Committee.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements:

  • Technician, Technologist or Engineering degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Manufacturing or equivalent experience
  • Min. 2 years experience in a manufacturing emvironment, handling electronic assembly pilot production setup, advanced manufacturing, NPI or comparable
  • Experience with CAD and ERP software systems an asset.
  • Must have knowledge of ISO9001 system
  • Ability to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures
  • Must be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge and aptitude relative to mechanical, electronic, and software trouble shooting
  • Clear effective communications skills
  • Basic computer skills including use of Word, Excel, E-mail, Internet Explorer and other software as required.
  • Experience with medical, aviation, communication, military, security or other highly regulated industries is a plus

Quality Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join our growing organization. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the successful candidate will playa key role within the Cadex manufacturing team. With strong organizational and problem solving skills, this individual will perform a “hands on” role contributing and supporting the transfer of product design from development to manufacturing, maintenance and improvement of production processes at Cadex Canada, and management of domestic and off-shore suppliers.


Responsibilities:
  • Lead manufacturing process risk assessment, validations and CAPA
  • Lead supplier quality audits, assessing supplier quality performance and managing supplier CAPA
  • Contribute to manufacturing process improvement
  • Create and maintain product inspection criteria.

Qualifications:
  • Completion of post-secondary degree/diploma in science or engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3 -5 years experience in design and manufacturing environment, i.e. GMP, ISO 13485, ISO 9001
  • CQE designation
  • Experience with APQP / PPAP and /or IQ/OQ/PQ
  • Performed /created PFMEA, process control plan, GRR/MSA, process capability study
  • Knowledge and use of applied statistics in a manufacturing environment (e.g. SPC) using statistical software such as MINITAB
  • Familiarity with and applied workmanship standards such as IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620
  • Experience with supplier auditing
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A critical thinker with strong problem solving/analytical skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Well organized with a reputation of meeting project deadlines and goals
  • A hands-on individual who enjoys working in a team environment
